



The hogeschool (technical university) was created in 1995 through a merger of formerly independent institutes. From the start, the hogeschool has established itself as one of the leading schools in Flanders, offering education in a wide variety of disciplines, ranging from Architecture to Drama, Music and Dance and from Engineering to Social Work. These disciplines are organized in 3-, 4- or 5-year (full-time) study programmes. Currently 7200 students are studying at the Artesis Hogeschool Antwerpen in 7 departments. Most of these departments are located within the centre of the city.

With this, they keep in mind the chances on the market, the strategy of the company, the imago, the technological stuff, the usability, shape en more crucial aspects. This is product design: new products on new markets.
Product developers are professionals who creatively apply several techniques to build a structured product design: from the first idea until a product which is ready for the market. They are looking continuously the appreciation of the new product. So they aren’t designers who take care of the new look of the product en they aren’t inventors.
